ACC investigating Honeybee

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it has been investigating Honeybee Pharmacy over the way it was awarded a contract by the Ministry of Health to supply medical kits since August 2020.

ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono, said in a statement sent to ZANIS in Lusaka today, that investigations were instituted arising from information received from a named stakeholder.

Mr Moono said a number of witnesses and suspects have been interviewed and investigations have since reached an advanced stage.

He assured members of the public that the Commission will not relent to bring to book any persons or entities that will be found to be involved in corrupt activities.

“Investigations on this case have been going on and we are hopeful that they will be concluded soon,” Mr Moono said.

Several individuals and entities have in the past few days called upon the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), to investigate the way in which Honeybee pharmacy was awarded a contract to supply medical kits to the Ministry of Health.
