Lubarma marketeers empowered

Kabwata Patriotic Front (PF) aspiring Member of Parliament Clement Tembo today empowered over 150 traders and marketeers operating at Lubarma market with boxes of freshly harvested tomatoes from his farm.

While those trading in restaurants and saloons were given mealie meal and startup capital to keep their business afloat in the wake of COVID-19.

Speaking prior to the distribution exercise, Mr Tembo said he was fully aware of the challenges that traders and marketeers were faced with following the outbreak of COVID-19.

Mr Tembo explained during his address that the support he was rendering to marketeers and traders was meant to cushioning the impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kabwata PF aspiring candidate said he was delighted to render a helping hand to the marketeers at Lubarma market where his grandmother once sold food stuffs.

Mr Tembo encouraged the marketeers to work hard and emulate the grandmother who educated him using proceeds from the sales of kapenta and beans.  

Meanwhile Mr Tembo has implored traders and marketeers to rally behind President Lungu’s candidature.

He explained that the late President Michael Sata before his demise left the party in the cable hands of President Lungu who should be supported by all peace loving Zambians.  

However, Mr Tembo cautioned the electorate to be weary of people who want to destabilise the ruling party adding that the party has already settled for President Lungu’s as the candidate for the 2021 general elections.

Mr Tembo said He was youthful and energetic to support President Lungu in spearheading development in Kabwata constituency.

He said President Lungu entrusted him with the responsibility to oversee the empowerment programme in 150 districts and 10 provinces.

Mr Tembo wondered how he would fail to deliver development to one constituency if he managed to take the empowerment programme across the country.

He urged the people to be weary of aspiring opponents who have surfaced and use money to buy support.

Mr Tembo said despite not having funds, he has the heart and love to serve the people of Kabwata in bettering their livelihoods.

The Kabwata PF aspiring candidate pointed out that the work he has been doing in Kabwata speaks for itself.

In a related development, Mr Tembo has paid glowing tribute to Given Lubinda who is the current Kabwata area MP.

Mr Tembo stressed that Mr Lubinda who is also Justice Minister deserves to be respected and commended for the 20 years he has been area Member of Parliament for Kabwata.
