Chief Kambwali calls for adherence to COVID-19 guidelines


Nchelenge, January 13, 2021, ZANIS—Chief Kambwali of the Lunda people in Nchelenge district, Luapula Province has called for strict adherence to COVID-19 health guidelines to curb the spread of the disease in the area.

The traditional leader said traders who do not want to adhere to health guidelines of masking up, washing hands and social distancing should have their businesses closed.

ZANIS reports that the traditional leader said this when the District Epidermic Preparedness and Response Committee team led by  District Commissioner, Ivo Mpasa called on him at his palace today.

Chief Kambwali also appealed to the Ministry of Health to work with village headpersons when conducting sensitization meetings.

And District Commissioner, Ivo Mpasa commended Chief Kambwali for the positive response in the fight against COVID-19 which has ravaged the country.

Nchelenge district has so far recorded over 50 COVID-19 positive cases.
