Clement Tembo aspires for PF Kabwata Constituency MP Seat

Presidential Empowerment Initiative Fund National Coordinator Clement Tembo has declared interest to stand as Kabwata Constituency Patriotic Front Member of Parliament in the 2021 General Election.

Mr Tembo said he wants to be considered as a candidate for the ruling party in forthcoming polls.

Speaking during the meeting attended by Party Officials from all leadership levels in the constituency and party supporters, Mr Tembo urged party membership in the constituency not to allow people seeking political office to be imposed on them.

“We should not allow Kabwata Constituency to be bought by the highest bidder…this may bring division in the party and lead to people standing as independent candidates,” he said.

He charged that some people decide to stand as independent candidates because of corruption in the adoption process.

Mr Tembo noted that there should not be division in the party as they all belong to President Edgar Lungu.

He assured constituency members that he will empower them because the President has entrusted him with the responsibility of empowering people across the country through the presidential empowerment Initiative fund.

However, PF Kabwata Constituency Chairperson Trevor Ngandu warned PF aspiring candidates not to stand as independent candidates once not adopted as this may bring division in the party.

Mr Ngandu assured the aspiring candidates that Kabwata Constituency cannot be bought by anyone because it is not for sale.

He welcomed Clement Tembo to mobilise people in the constituency as an aspiring candidate and wished him the best.

Recently, Kabwata Constituency has seen a number of people showing interest to stand as area Member of Parliament on the PF ticket.
