Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia (NCZ) retirees have thanked government for releasing K89 million for their terminal benefits.
Speaking during a briefing at NCZ, retiree representative Chanda Bweupe thanked President Lungu for responding to the plight of NCZ retirees
Mr. Bweupe who retired from NCZ in 2014 said life had not been easy without their retirement package.
He said in the last seven years the retirees have lived in poverty but with the release of the money they will be able to improve their lives.
Mr. Bweupe urged his fellow retirees to be disciplined and not to misuse their terminal benefits.
And NCZ board Chairperson Chitundu Kasase thanked retirees for their contribution to the company.
Dr. Kasase said NCZ is what it is today because of their hard work and dedication during their time of duty.
Mr. Kasase also commended government for releasing funds for the retirees.
Meanwhile, Kafue District Commissioner Gibson Sinkala thanked retirees for their patience.
He said government is committed to addressing the plight of the retirees in the country.
Mr. Sinkala said government will ensure that all retirees receive their terminal benefits.
