Mazabuka Council receives K12M CDF allocation

Mazabuka District has received over K12 million under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), for the second quarter of 2022.

From the K12, 518, 232 allocated, Mazabuka Central Constituency will get K6, 259, 116 which will go towards the purchase of earth moving equipment which include a grader, water bowser and tipper truck.

The allocation will also cater for skills development, school bursaries, youth and women empowerment programmes.

This is contained in a statement availed to ZANIS in Mazabuka by Council Assistant Public Relations Manager, Caroline Simumba.

Ms Simumba further said K6, 259, 116 for Magoye Constituency would go towards the purchase of an Excavator, construction of a police post at Copper Market and rehabilitation of Hamakona Dam.

Other projects to be worked on in Magoye Constituency are rehabilitation of Simwaba-Mazembe road and payment of bursaries for secondary schools, skills development, youth and women empowerment grants.

Ms Simumba said Mazabuka Municipal Council would ensure accountability and transparency in the utilization of funds.

She further said the local authority will strive to continuously engage the public through the Constituency Development Fund Committee, Ward Development Committee and zonal leaders.
