The China-Zambia Trade and Investment Forum has closed with a call for Zambians to partner with Chinese investors.
Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) Acting Director General, Albert Halwampa, said Zambians must use the just ended forum to form business partnerships with Chinese investors.
Mr. Halwampa said Zambians must effectively participate in enhancing trade between the two countries.
He stated that there is need for local people to take advantage of the tax rebate signed yesterday between Zambia and China by exporting goods to China.
Meanwhile, Mr. Halwampa has expressed optimism that the hosting of the forum will trigger increased trade between Zambia and China.
He pointed out that the forum has created a platform that will further strengthen bilateral trade ties.
Mr. Halwampa has therefore encouraged Zambians to embrace Chinese investment.
And speaking earlier, Counsellor at the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Zambia, Liu Guoyu, described the forum as a success.
Mr. Guoyu said it was gratifying that the members of the business community in Zambia are interacting well with potential investors from China.
He said Chinese investors are very ready to invest in various sectors of the economy.
Mr. Guoyu further said the embassy will use the forum as a vehicle to woo more investment into Zambia.
The two days forum was officially opened yesterday by President Hakainde Hichilema.
The forum attracted more than 100 Chinese companies.
