Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Sharon Zulu says Police is working towards controlling the situation at Kasumbalesa Border Post in Chililabombwe on the Copperbelt Province.
This follows protests by truck drivers over alleged harassment by the Congolese.
Ms. Zulu said in a statement issued to ZANIS in Ndola that more Police officers have been sent to the area for reinforcement.
She said the officers are patrolling the stretch from Kalulushi to Kasumbalesa where trucks are parked along the road.
Ms Zulu said truck drivers are blocking trucks from entering into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and entering Zambia from DRC.
Scores of aggrieved drivers have continued protesting at Kasumbalesa and Mkambo border posts over alleged harassment by the Congolese.
