Power maintain lead on FAZ MTN Super League

Power Dynamos is still holding firm to the leadership of the FAZ MTN Super League log standings despite a narrow defeat away to Prisons Leopards played over the weekend in a Week 16 fixture.

Power 90  left it late to see off a stubborn 6th placed Prison Leopards team via a 90th minute Joshua Mutale goal.

And defending champions Red Arrows suffered defeat in their own backyard at Nkoloma Stadium, at the hands of Green Eagles.

Eagles beat Arrows by a goal to nil, making the Zambia Air Force side lose ground in their quest to apply pressure on league leaders Power Dynamos.

Green Buffaloes condemned Buildcon to further misery where the North Westerners have struggled for form, beating them by a goal to nil courtesy of a Robin Siame strike in the 12th minute.

The Zambia Army sponsored side leaped to second place on 28 points in the process, capitalizing on the Red Arrows defeat.

Elsewhere Legendary Zambian club Nkana narrowly defeated ZESCO United by a goal to nil.

Nkana have only managed to garner 19 points which is only three clear of the relegation zone.

ZESCO United are however only a point above the Kalampa who themselves languish in unfamiliar territory at 11th on the log.

Forest Rangers managed to conquer, NAPSA Stars by a goal to nil a result that left the Pensioners only two points above the relegation zone on18 points.

The result ensured that Forest Rangers moved to third place with 28 points, which is the same number of points as Green Buffaloes who are in second place with a superior goal difference.

Meanwhile Police outfit Nkwazi beat Lumwana Radiants’ three goals to nil in a relegation battle that left the sides on 16 and 15 points respectively.

Ironically, the result leaves Nkwazi on 15th place while Lumwana Radiants is facing a serious relegation dog fight on 16 place.

Chambishi drew nil-all with second from bottom Kabwe Warriors while Nchanga Rangers defeated Kansanshi Dynamos 2 goals to 1.

And ZANACO defeated FC MUZA 3-2 in a match played at Sunset Stadium.
