President Hichilema, Blinken hold talks

President Hakainde Hichilema has  held private talks with the  United States of America (USA) Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken on the sidelines of the U.S.African Leaders Summit where he and other three African leaders presented the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defense, and Security  in Washington DC.

The other three African leaders who.attended the meeting included Namibian President, Hage Geingob and South African Foreign Minister, Naledi Pandor.

According to a media release obtained by ZANIS, Spokesperson Ned Price disclosed that Mr Blinken during meetings with the three Organ Troika members emphasized the importance of strong U.S.-SADC relations.

The closed door meeting also stressed the need for greater cooperation on shared challenges in the region and beyond.

President Hichilema is in Washington DC attending the three day U.S.African Leaders Summit which started yesterday is expected to come to end tomorrow December 15th 2022.
