A 48 year old woman of Mufulira’s Chibolya Compound has allegedly been murdered by her lover.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Peacewell Mweemba told ZANIS that Gift Chomba was allegedly beaten to death by her boyfriend only known as Henry.
Mr Mweemba said the incident happened on Friday, 16th December, 2022 around 19:00 hours in Chibolya Compound, Mufulira.
He said the son to the deceased, Roy Mulenga reported that his mother had been assaulted by her lover using an unknown object adding that the victim sustained general body pains.
Mr Mweemba said the deceased was then admitted to Ronald Ross General Hospital before being transferred to Kitwe Teaching Hospital where she died on 17th December, 2022.
He said a docket has been opened and a manhunt has been launched for the suspect.
