President Hichilema jets back

President Hakainde Hichilema has arrived back home from Luanda, Angola, were he had gone for a three day state visit.

The plane carrying the President and the First Lady Mutinta Hichilema touched down at the Kenneth Kaunda ZAF base at exactly 20:00hours.

The President was in Angola at the invitation of his counterpart, President of Angola Joao Lourenco.

While in Angola, the President held bilateral talks with President Lourenco, with close focus on issues of infrastructure development pertaining to road, rail and air connectivity as well as energy.

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) including an agreement on infrastructure development was also part of the agenda.

The president later addressed the Angola National Assembly, as well as travelled to Benguela province where he toured the Lobito Port, the Benguela Railway Company and the Lobito Petroleum Refinery.

The Head of State was received by Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata, Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Bwalya and State House Media Director Clayson Hamasaka, among other senior government officials.
