President Hakainde Hichilema is in Abu Dhabi, the capital for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, among other engagements.
The President is in the UAE at the invitation of his counterpart President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Hichilema who was accorded a guard of honour upon arrival at Albateen airport was received by the representative of host nation.
During the visit, Mr Hichilema is expected to attend the official opening of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week scheduled for today, Monday, January 16, 2023.
The Head of State will on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, take part in a high-level panel discussion, among other engagements.
Earlier, Minister of Green Economy and Environment Collins Nzovu, told the media that Zambia will use its presence at the summit, to mobilise resources to help address the energy challenges that the country has been grappling with for years.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Stanley Kakubo and his Energy counterpart Peter Kapala, are part of the delegation that has accompanied the President to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The President is expected back in the country immediately after his engagements in Abu Dhabi.
