Govt empowers over 4,100 beneficiaries of Social Cash Transfer Funds

Government has started disbursing monies to over 4,100 beneficiaries of the social cash transfer in Kalulushi district on the Copperbelt.

Kalulushi District Commissioner, Kelly Jibinga says the programme is aimed at improving lives for all vulnerable Zambians especially the aged and those with special needs.

Mr Jibinga said this when he flagged off the January and February by-monthly Social Cash Transfer in Kalulushi.

He said the Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare is recruiting more vulnerable households to be included on the programme in the district.

The DC said the programme is ongoing as it is aimed at reducing poverty among the vulnerable in the area.

Speaking earlier, District Social Welfare Assistant Audrey Mwanza said the beneficiaries getting the monies are coming from the five CWACs.

She named the CWACs as Lunga, Twapelwa, Federation, new Munsenga and Luena and that 214 beneficiaries are benefiting from the same CWACs.
